Getting started with cold wax medium - a creative journey

Beginning your cold wax journey

I am so excited about my online class "Getting Started with Cold Wax Medium

I created this course for those who are new to cold wax medium painting, BUT I am sure that even those of you who are more experienced, will enjoy the class as a refresher of all the cold wax painting techniques that can be used to create beautiful layered paintings.

Although I have been painting with Cold Wax Medium for quite some time now, I noticed that I often use the same cold wax techniques (glazing and powders/pigments being my favourites), and filming the other techniques made me aware of how much fun they are and I use them much more now!

Cold wax painting for starters

What we will do in this class (it has become a super full class!):

  • Discuss drawing and painting tools, oil paints and substrates

  • Explore all the cold wax techniques that can be used to create beautiful layered paintings, like glazing, a veil of colour, masks and collage and more!

  • Discuss different drying times

  • Paint four projects together, exploring all the techniques

    Four step-by-step cold wax paintings:

  • An Abstract, where we will touch on colour, shape, value, line and, of course, texture

  • A Landscape, where we also look into areal perspective to give depth to your painting

  • A Figure, where I show you how I transfer my drawing to a 'busy background'

  • and A Face, without actually having to draw the face!

You can look at the supply list here. Since it is a very full class with lots of projects, don't buy all the colours I used but adapt the project to the colours you already have!

As always, don’t hesitate to ask me questions, I would love to connect with you!💙
