About me

I am a Dutch Artist living in Plascassier, in the South of France. I have always been a creative person who loves to draw, paint and create things. Whilst I was studying I started to paint in watercolour and was delighted to sell many of them. Later on, searching for new ways to express myself, I switched to oils and I have never gone back. I attended workshops in England, the Netherlands and France and studied at the 'Académie of Beaux-Arts Anca-Sonia' in Grasse. I am absolutely passionate about painting Faces, Figures and Flowers, slowly changing in style from very detailed to more and more loose. I found my voice when I discovered the Cold Wax Medium which allows me to make beautiful textured backgrounds using not only oil paints but pigments, pastels and oil sticks. It has given me far greater freedom to explore and experiment new ways of expressing myself through my art.

Painting is easy when you don’t know how, but very difficult when you do.
