The 100 Mini-Portraits Challenge

The 100 Days Project

If you're on social media, you've probably heard of the #100dayproject! The idea is to be creative every day for 100 days. But knowing myself, that's a bit too much for me, so I'm going to try to make 100 mini-portraits in however many days it takes! You can make 100 mini-portraits or more, or less, in any medium : acrylics, oils, (water-based) cold wax, water colours, crayons, collage, pens, anything! It's your project, so you decide how you want to do it! I am doing the project in acrylics and water-based cold wax, but I might add a bit of cold wax and oils in the end!

I've set some prompts for myself, but also some 'rules' because it's hard enough to keep up!

  • I'm not going to film or post every mini-portrait I make. It's okay if I don’t share every day.

  • The portraits don’t have to be perfect, just a fun way of playing and experimenting.

  • I don’t have to complete the 100 days in 100 days; it might take a year or even longer to finish the mini-portraits, or I might never finish! There's no pressure whatsoever.

  • I can make more than one portrait a day and then nothing for the following days.

  • I'll set a maximum time of 30 minutes per portrait, but I'll aim for less.

  • I'm going to do this using water-based cold wax and acrylics to account for drying time but will surely add different art supplies later

It would be such fun if we can do this together!💙

As always, don’t hesitate to ask me questions, I would love to connect with you!💙
