A note from Marina
I created The Texture Lab because I missed that feeling of being in the studio together: sharing ideas, finding a way through a stuck painting, and encouraging each other to keep going.
Oils and cold wax are close to my heart. I also love seeing what happens when we bring acrylics, collage and other materials into the process. Here, there is room to be curious, to try things, and to let a painting become your own.

Before you begin
You can watch part of a lesson, make a small colour study, or pick up where you left off. Projects vary in length, and you do not need to finish a project in one sitting or complete everything each month. The Short on Time path can help you find a starting point.
No. The learning paths are suggestions to help you choose, not a fixed curriculum. You can follow a path, choose an individual project, or explore the monthly magazine. Move between them as your interests change.
Oils and cold wax are at the heart of my teaching, and there are acrylic and mixed media options too. Choose a class that suits the materials you enjoy. The medium and supply list belong to each project; every project is not taught in every medium.
Yes. The same layering approach runs through my work in oils and cold wax and in acrylics with texture medium: building up layers, creating texture and making marks. What you learn in one medium can inspire your work in the other. The materials, handling and drying times differ, so follow the guidance for the medium you are using. Not every class is demonstrated in both mediums.
The monthly Studio Q&A is recorded, so you can watch when it suits you. You can send questions for the Q&A and reach out when you get stuck. The private 30-minute monthly session is a separate benefit of Inner Circle.
Membership gives you access for your paid membership period; it is not lifetime ownership of the included classes. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until your current paid period ends. Any classes you have bought separately with lifetime access remain yours.
Your existing founding rate stays unchanged for as long as you keep your membership. The prices shown here are for new memberships.
