“All she wanted was a Red Dress”

I painted this girl with a palette knife using different mark making techniques which resulted in a textured surface. The painting is inspired by the beautiful poem "The Red Dress".

The painting is painted on a high quality 3D canvas (80x120cm, 31,5”x47.3”) in oils and cold wax medium. The edges are about 5 cm (2”) thick and painted in black. She does not have to be framed and is wired to hang upon arrival. Certificate of Authenticity is included.

I always saw, I always saidIf I were grown and free,I'd have a gown of reddest redAs fine as you could see,To wear out walking, sleek and slow,Upon a Summer day,And there'd

be one to see me soAnd flip the world away. And he would be a gallant one,With stars behind his eyes,And hair like metal in the sun,And lips too warm for lies.I always saw us, gay and good,High honored in the town. Now I am grown to womanhood….I have the silly gown.- Dorothy Parker -
