This is Amber, a portrait created with acrylics and water-based cold wax, giving it rich textures and soft, transparent layers. What makes Amber unique is the addition of rust powder, which adds earthy, organic tones that shift subtly with the light, enhancing the painting’s depth and texture.
Built up from an abstract base, Amber emerged gradually from my textured layers. The cold wax softens the edges, creating a beautiful matte finish that contrasts beautifully with the rust. This combination invites you to explore the layers, uncovering her quiet, reflective story.
