Stay at Home Challenge - week 4

My dear Creative friend,

How are you cooping with life in lockdown? Or are you still free to leave the house? I hope all your loved ones are healthy and safe at this time! We are in our third week (almost fourth) week of complete lockdown here in France and I find it long, although I realise how lucky I am to be surrounded with my family and to have my atelier at home to paint!

I love seeing the paintings that you made with the colours of last week. Here is a new picture that can serve as colour inspiration!

For those who would like a subject to paint, here is a beautiful sunset, which can also be a good starting point for an abstract painting! look at those shapes!

For this weeks challenge I am going to use Cadmium Orange Hue, Gamblins Phthalo Turquoise, Titanium White, Ivory Black and Titanium Buff (I might add a bit of a red too, f.e. Napthol red). Ofcourse you can mix your own oranges and use any blue. When you mix these complementary colours you obtain beautiful neutrals! Or you can make a warm grey by adding a bit of orange to your black and white mix and a cool grey by adding a bit of blue into your black/white mix. I love working with limiting palettes!

This weeks painting

Let’s use the hashtag #stayathomecreativechallenge to regroup all our paintings on Instagram, or if you are not on IG, post them in my Cold Wax Creative Community on Facebook (even if they are not in Cold wax!!)
